We were supposed to be in North Carolina at Grandma and Grandpa Dower's by yesterday, but we ran into some confusion about our travel visas at the airport and weren't able to get our flight out. It's too annoying (and boring) a story to repeat here, but in short Paul's school fixed things up and we are set to depart tomorrow morning and to arrive in NC late on Christmas Eve.
On the upside, this unfortunate mishap allowed me to get these two great pictures of Paul and Arturo at the Moscow immigration office this afternoon. There's just something about this waiting room that feels perfectly, beautifully, Russian to me. Though the circumstances that took us there were frustrating, I have to admit the experience was strangely enjoyable.

So sorry about the visa frustrations! It's one we completely understand. It really ought to be easy to get out and hard to get in, but it usually the other way around :). Glad you guys are still going to make it!
