Halloween: Arturo the Farmer
Thanksgiving
For our first two Thanksgivings in Moscow, we put a lot of time and energy into cooking a big, traditional meal. This year, we decided to head out to a "typical American" restaurant that was serving Thanksgiving dinner. It wasn't our most amazing meal ever, but it did include the essentials, and we were certainly feeling thankful for all the great people in our lives and the terrific opportunities that have come our way.

Most Russian babies are potty trained by 18 months. We started acclimating Arturo to the idea at 20 months (late November), and it was surprisingly swift from there. In the last few weeks, we've even been able to eliminate his nap and overnight diaper, something we didn't envision happening so soon. Very exciting!

I didn't know they even made boxers for little kids :-) Toilet trained early with no problems - why am I not surprised - that's just Arturo!!
Thank you, Jane! Although, I'm kind of chuckling at the "with no problems" part. For example, early on we read somewhere that when "accidents" happen, it's a good idea to involve the baby/toddler in the clean-up process. So when Arturo went on the floor a few days into training, we did just that. Well guess what? He thought the tidy-up was so much fun that for the next few days he proceeded to pee on the floor every chance he got, and then he'd run to get the rags and spray bottle!
