We had a couple of Paul's coworkers over for Thanksgiving dinner and, despite moments of doubt, it turned out great. Here's Paul with his packed plate! Turkey isn't exactly a staple in the Russian diet, but we tracked down a couple of baby turkeys that had been imported from France and splurged on those. There were a few other traditional ingredients that we weren't able to find, but we had no problem putting together garlic mashers, stuffing, biscuits and pie, so it still felt like the real thing.

These are NOT cranberries. They were closest in appearance, so we gave them a try. However, once we got home and cracked them open, we learned they are not AT ALL similar to cranberries (or any berries we've ever encountered!). We ultimately made lingonberry sauce instead and it turned out great.
Pumpkin is not easy to find here, whether whole or in canned form, so we made Dutch Apple Pie (and bourbon vanilla ice cream) and found this to be a totally sufficient substitute!

Looks like you may have bought a bag of eggs, not cranberries. Other than that, it looks good. Happy Russian Thanksgiving!
LOL at Thomas's comment! :) Good job recreating Thanksgiving in a faraway place. Not easy to do. "Bobshka!" (I just made that up--it's the way Russians say "cheers!" in my imagination.)
