A Russian Thanksgiving II

Yesterday we celebrated our second Thanksgiving in Moscow, and again, despite missing a few classic ingredients, we managed to put together a nice meal. This year, we started off Russian-style with vodka, pickles and mors (a traditional berry drink). The rest of the menu consisted of pumpkin soup, 'baby turkey' (we're wondering if it might have actually been a chicken, but we played along), potatoes, wild mushroom stuffing, sauce made from what I thought looked most like cranberries (Paul thinks they were actually soapberries), pumpkin pie and ginger ice cream. As you can see from the above photos, Pedro wasn't so into the berries, but he otherwise cleaned his plate. Sadly (and to his dismay), doing so did not earn him pie or ice cream.

Arturo is still mainly on mom's milk, but he gave the pumpkin soup a try yesterday, and today Paul prepared him some leftovers - ground turkey, potatoes and berries. We were excited to find that, as with most foods he has tried, he consumed all of this enthusiastically.
