A Fall Visit to Norway

Arturo had only been to Norway while still tucked away in my belly, so we were excited to take him and introduce him to some of our friends and family there. Sadly, we didn't have time to see everyone, and we also didn't manage to get all of the photos we would have liked (e.g. of our nice time with Gro, Andreas, Lene, August, etc.!), but we're planning for a return in the lovely Norwegian winter, and we're excited to add to the story (and the photo album) then.

OSLO

Visiting with Gro and Knut Erik. In this series of photos, Arturo spots Gro’s bowl of chocolates on the table, reaches for them, and expresses his dismay when he’s not immediately released to pursue them (look at that scowl in picture 3!).

We had an amazing dinner, including reindeer and all the fixings, at Gro and Knut Erik’s house, where we were also excited to catch up with John Morten (oops, no pictures with JM!).

A visit to a small public farm with Knut Erik. Arturo liked all of the animals but had a special affinity for the little pig. He and Knut Erik also had fun picking grass and feeding it to the horses.

We also had a great dinner at Berit and Daniel’s place, where we were lucky to be joined by Marianne. (Berit is a childhood friend of my mom's, and Marianne, her daughter, a childhood friend of mine!) Additionally, Paul was able to meet up with Alfonso, a friend from graduate school who is now an economics professor at the University of Oslo.

We were also lucky enough to catch up with our friends Michał, Kamil, Rafał and Sylwia, who traveled from Poland to visit Tjøme.

On a walk near the Tønsberg Tower; goofing around at the cabin

On the rocks at Verdens Ende; Michał and Kamil, swimming in the nearly-freezing fjord

Next: pictures from our upcoming trip to Poland (we head there on Friday), where we'll visit the Jublewsky Family (Michał, Kamil and family) and the rest of our Polish friends!
