Missing Pedro

When we went out to California for the holidays, we brought Pedro with us. Since we’ll be back there in February, to stay until at least July, we decided it would be best for him to remain with my parents for the month and not make the big trip back to Russia.

We know he’s loving it there, getting lots of treats from Grandma and Grandpa and having a great time with Bino, my parents' pup. That said, we’re already missing him like crazy! When he’s here, there’s no missing him around the apartment. Among other things, he vacuums up all food spills, warms our bed at night, and reminds us to keep active by demanding daily trips to the park and walks in the neighborhood, regardless of the weather. Additionally, he provides great entertainment and welcomed distraction for me when I’m working from home, which I’m lucky to be doing frequently these days.

We’re told by some friends that once the baby comes we’ll forget all about Pedro, at least for a time, but from our current vantage point that hardly seems possible!

I don't think you'll forget all about him. He will definitely take a step down in the hierarchy of priorities but dogs play a very important role in our lives and that part doesn't change when kids come along. Loved the picture. :)

Love the picture!
Pedro's position is very secure. He is after all the "1st" child. :-)
